Ukrainian War Relief & Updates

Our New Reality

By Sophia, wife of one of our missionaries from Kyiv who was evacuated to Poland with her children and many female relatives & their children.

“Don't lay up treasures for yourself on earth...” Before, I never fully understood the meaning of these words. And now it’s such a time that while you thought you had something material .. but at the same time there is nothing. Right now there is a huge rethinking of our values going on.  So when you have to choose what to take even if something small, you really think - it is really valuable and necessary for you ... or you can do without it?

Everything that is happening in Ukraine now is very scary. All people have changed. The children have matured beyond their years. They all see and hear what is happening. And it just breaks my heart that you can't change anything.

My nephew, who is 7 years old, has drawn a picture of the house he will build. Since tanks drive everywhere, a tiny house will stand on the ground. And underground a large three-story house, like a bomb shelter ..

In the first days of the war, 22 people spent the night with us, all crowded into the basement of our home. We never even thought that we would have to use our basement in this way ...

My youngest daughter draws flowers, and tanks drive between them ... the rest are all drawings with the flags of Ukraine and a prayer to God for peace.

Keep praying for us to endure spiritually and physically during this difficult time! Take care and appreciate each other!
