Oleg & Katherine Vladyko: St. Petersburg, Russia

Vladyko Prayer CardWe have never met, but I would ask if you would be so kind as to pray about helping me. Please, I need your continued financial support for Otradnoye Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Russia.

My name is Oleg Vladyko. I am a Russian missionary pastor. I have been led by our wonderful Lord Jesus to take over full responsibility for the work at Otradnoye Baptist Church in St Petersburg, Russia.

I had the joy of accepting the call of the church to be their pastor. By God’s grace, the church has stabilized and is actually increasing in numbers. I fully intend to work as hard as possible to fulfill the Great Commission as long as I live. I have a vision to establish other Baptist Churches in villages nearby.

I have been trained by our Lord through American missionaries (for ten years of “on the job training,” including five years of missionary schools taught by BIEM missionaries) and Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale, Pa. (through their video course). I continue my education with the video school and by attending classes held in Moscow conducted by BIEM.

As you know, for the past six years, the Otradnoye Baptist Church has been ministering to a nearby orphanage. There has been wonderful spiritual fruit from this effort. Many children have come to Christ and have grown in our Lord. The director of this orphanage has practically begged us to continue to help them and serve there. We cannot lose this opportunity.

Here is a little personal information about myself. I trusted The Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior in 1993. My wife, Katherine, and have two boys, Arseny and Vladik and we are expecting our third. When I got saved, I realized a great need among Russian people to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, so I began to help local missionaries to do the work of an evangelist. In 1998, I was ordained to be a full-time minister. I was able to teach Bible subjects to new students in our local Bible School. For seven years I enjoyed serving the Lord as an assistant to my pastor, Dr. Charles Hoblitz. During these years I had the great experience to win several dozen people to the Lord, baptizing them and building their faith in Christ.

Redeeming the time for our Lord,

Oleg Vladyko
