McQueary Prayer Letter ~ December 2007
Dear Family and Friends,
This has been a year of blessing and change for the McQueary family. Our ministry thrust has changed as of May when Bob resigned as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood, FL, as most of you know and we are now missionaries appointed by Baptist International Evangelistic Ministries. Bob has been traveling since 1997 to the seminaries in Kiev, Ukraine and Moscow that are affiliated with BIEM as an adjunct professor. He has also been a member of the board of directors for the last five years. Since our board headquarters is located in western Indianapolis we have been able to see Gayle’s mom and Mike and Judy on many occasions. That has been a great blessing for us.
In September Gayle got to visit Ukraine for the first time as we attended the Mission to Muslims Conference hosted by BIEM. We also spent 6 days in Turkey (the largest unevangelized country in the world) during that trip. What a beautiful and densely populated land that desperately needs the gospel. What a burden God has given us for His people there.
We are now on deputation to raise personal and field support for Western Asia. The four countries that Bob will be responsible for are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Our deputation schedule began the first Sunday in August and since then we have been in meetings in churches in Florida, Illinois and Indiana. Presently our personal support level is at 15% and a donor has come forward with a gift that should cover most of the initial expenses for acquiring and equipping a building to be used for ministry in Turkey.
Our home in Florida is not centrally located enough for us to work out of there; so we have a “for sale by owner” sign in the yard. Pray that it will sell quickly. The market for homes is slow there as in many parts of the nation at this time. However, our God is able.
In October the whole family gathered in Atlanta for the wedding of Russell to Lorri Blake. Their wedding had a lovely outdoor setting in a courtyard in Midtown Atlanta where they live. We now have another daughter! Lorri is an award-winning event planner and Russ continues his career in restaurant management.
Rob
and Christina, Natalie, Erica and Tyler will
be relocating to the Atlanta area and
planting a church, Process Church, in June
of 2008. Pray for them as they adjust to a
new area and ministry. Natalie is in 8th
grade, Erica and Tyler in fifth and third.
(Tyler is the one in the picture with the
bright blue shirt.) We had Christmas with
them in early December! Eddie and Julie
along with Wesley, Hailey and Emmie are
serving in Williamston, SC in youth ministry
at Calvary Baptist Church. Julie is
homeschooling Wesley and Hailey in third and
first grades. Three of our children will be
living within three hours of one another!
What a blessing for cousins especially.
Jeff and Colleen along with Cole (almost 4, born Dec. 25) and Sage (18 months) served with us in youth ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. Jeff resigned in June and has now taken a new position as assistant pastor/youth at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Lebanon, Indiana. They will be moving to Lebanon before Christmas.
Pray for us in the coming months that we will have fruitful ministry among the churches we will visit on our deputation journey. Have a joyous time as you celebrate the birth of our wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Love in Christ,
Bob and Gayle
