October 2003 Praises – Rejoice with us! v
Praise God for supplying the $15,000 urgently needed for pouring
the concrete for the church building program in Fetesti mentioned in last
months BIEM's of Light. The need of $10,000 for Bible distribution on a military
base in Ukraine has also been met recently. v
A teacher has come to Christ at the orphanage in Tuchkova, Russia
for which BIEM children's workers conducted a whole month of camp. v
Praise God for a good number of new students who have enrolled in
our schools in Moscow and Kyiv. This month Missionary Principles, Pastoral
Epistles, Joshua, and Bibliology are being taught by visiting pastors and
teachers from America as well as a veteran missionary serving in Germany. v
The new church in Dubovka, Russia is rejoicing over the excellent
relationship that they have been able to establish with their mayor. He
himself says he cannot believe he is helping Christians since he persecuted them
in Communist times. A young lady recently saved in this church had a
glowing testimony published in the local paper.
v
Praise God for a good number of used laptops donated for BIEM's
ministry. Another source contacted our office about the possibility of
giving 2,000 pairs of shoes to our children's work. Prayer – Pray with us! v
Please pray for the funds that are needed by the Jubilee Baptist
Church in Dyedovsk Russia to get a roof on their new building before winter. v
Continue to pray for Karina Sychov, the daughter of our national
missionaries on the Ukrainian military base who is being treated at a children's
hospital in Philadelphia. Pray that the procedures and therapy she is
going through will enable her to walk. v
The container sent by the Hyde Park Baptist Church of New York to
help our new church in Lutsk, Ukraine has arrived in the port city of Odessa.
Pray that all the bureaucratic hurdles be cleared quickly for its release. v
Please continue to pray for Margie Canaday, the wife of our field
director for Romania and Moldova as she continues her treatments for lymphoma. v Pastor Peter Rumachik will be arriving in the United States to share his testimony of how God sustained him through 18 years of imprisonment for the faith. Pray for meetings scheduled in Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan and North Carolina. |
