BIEMs of Light May 2004Praises
– Rejoice with us! v A high-ranking Moldovan government official has come to Christ through our ministry in Moldova. His wife also has been saved, and both have just been baptized. He is in charge of the countries Anti-Corruption program and by working with US agencies has jailed 29 notorious offenders over the past year. Now that this governmental authority is a brother in Christ, we have twice the reason to pray for him. Especially since he is constantly targeted by criminal elements. v Last month, prayer was requested for Ramona, a young lady saved in Stelnica, Romania who contracted a serious eye disease. Praise the Lord that during this time of trial both of her parents came to Christ! Furthermore, the cost was covered through various means that were a direct answer to prayer. After surgery she could see colors and noticed the wrinkles on the faces of the medical staff! Her eyesight has improved from 30% to 70%. Thanks for praying! v God has granted yet another answer to prayer we recently mentioned concerning the need for a place for our homeless children’s ministry in Kyiv, Ukraine. The city has granted the use of several rooms in an educational facility to house this ministry for 1/50th of the going lease rate. Apparently, the law allows the leasing of government facilities to humanitarian efforts for nominal costs. Such a lease is difficult to obtain and involves climbing a mountain of bureaucracy. There is a story to tell on how God enabled our Ukrainian workers to accomplish this feat you will see in a future issue of our newsletter The Challenger. v Praise God for working in the heart of the headmaster of a public school in Kobyzcha, Ukraine where we have been able to minister. This professional educator, Alexandra Vasilevna prepared a program for the children of the school using Christian materials. Please pray the she would soon come to Christ. Prayer – Pray with us! v This month we are conducting classes for nearly 200 nationals in Ukraine, Russia, Romania and Moldova. There are 12 pastors, professors, and missionaries traveling from the United States to teach. Please pray for safety in travel and productive classes. v There is a special need for prayer for the new church work in Bordusani, Romania concerning a huge problem being caused by one family. Pray for victory in this. v Please pray that the container of Gospel literature and humanitarian aid we sent to Ukraine last month will arrive safely, and that our brethren there would be able to expedite the release of its contents. v Please continue to pray for the funds that are needed for this summer’s camping program. |
