of Light: June 2007 Praises – Rejoice with us! v Removed for security purposes v The spring sessions for BIEM’s Bible institutes in Eastern Europe have concluded, with more graduates leaving for ministry elsewhere. Evangelism training in Kiev included daily trips to witness on the city’s streets. We praise God for these new graduates and their desire to be used by Him. v Earlier we announced a drive for kid-sized gym shoes for our Ukrainian children’s ministry. We received an enthusiastic response from churches, individuals, and one Christian school which included a van full of brand new gym shoes! We plan to ship all of these in August by sea container. v Recent donations have enabled us to push ahead with a variety of special projects, including funding a minivan purchase for an evangelistic team in Russia, the production of spoken Turkmen-language Scripture recordings on CD (also downloadable via Internet), aiding a church in Nahabino, Russia, with their church expansion, preparations for children’s camps, and plans for an autumn Missions to Muslims conference to be held in Kiev. Praise God for all these blessings! v The church in Otradnoye, Russia, has a current goal: to distribute 20,000 tracts and witness to 200 people personally. That is a great goal! Prayer – Pray with us! v Marius Simionas requests prayer as he transitions from a ministry in Moldova back to his native Romania (in accord with the Moldovan government’s demands). Please pray for a successful transfer to local leadership that would enable the ministry to prosper spiritually. v Removed for security purposes! v Please pray now for next month’s children’s camps. The adult leaders are planning their lessons and activities, and please pray for receptive hearts of the children who will attend and hear the Gospel. v Due to Romania’s entry into the European Union, our workers there are dealing with a huge increase in cost of living. For example, church planter Danut Blaj is now supported at $300 per month, but really needs $500. Please pray that some church or individual among God’s people will provide. v Ann, a BIEM co-worker, is undergoing the second phase of chemotherapy, which is to be followed by radiation treatment. She is feeling the strain of treatment and would appreciate continued prayers. |
