PraisesRejoice with us!

v     Thanks to your prayers, Vika and Karina Sychev received their visas to come to the United States on June 17th.  Please pray for wisdom for the doctors in Philadelphia to effectively treat Karina while she is here.

v     BIEM Missionary Iulian Stoian reports that evangelistic efforts in Tanderei, Romania were successful, as “each of the 4,500 families in the city had the chance to respond to the Gospel.”  Although this three-day crusade did not lead to the high number of anticipated salvation decisions, our workers are happy that much seed was planted.  Please pray that these seeds would bring forth much fruit.

v     We rejoice with the new graduates of the BIEM schools in Kyiv and Moscow.  This past month, 25 graduated from Kyiv, and our first class of three graduated from Moscow.  Pray with us that they would have effective ministries for Christ as they serve in Ukrainian and Russian churches.

v     After much labor, the church in Fetesti, Romania has remodeled the building in neighboring Bordusani, which was provided by the giving of Peace River Baptist Church in Port Charlotte.  This means that now the new church can meet in its own building!

v     Meanwhile, the hole has already been dug for the construction to begin in Fetesti proper.  Please pray for these new facilities to draw many in to hear the Gospel as you rejoice with us.

v     Please pray for our “Barnabas Conference,” a missionary retreat for national workers in Romania to be held August 25-29.  Funds are still needed for this strategic event, with $125 needed per person for each of the 40 nationals we expect to attend.

v     Continue praying for the family of Victor Pasachnik as they relocate across the many thousands of miles from Kyiv to Magadan.  This family still needs to find housing as they join the ministry of BIEM Missionary Tim Smith.

v     Please pray concerning the sale of BIEM’s Greenwood, IN property.  Although we cannot build the office space we need on this piece of land, the governor’s announcement of a major interstate highway development in the area has made sale of this property problematic.  Please pray that the Lord enables a quick sale, or makes it clear that we need to wait and sell this property later as surrounding development increases its value.

v     We praise God for the print shop donated to our work in Moldova, and ask your prayers for the container shipment to Chisinau.  While our building projects there now allow BIEM workers to apply for a permit to receive containers, this involves considerable red tape.  Please pray that we would be able to receive container shipments in this needy field.

v     Please pray for Samuel, the son of Romanian BIEM Church Planter Ghenadie Festaciuc.  The outcome of Samuel’s foot surgery in Moscow will determine whether the boy will be able to walk.
