BIEMs of Light: June 2004Praises
– Rejoice with us! v
Fred
Canaday, BIEM’s Director for Romania and Moldova, reports 56 salvation
decisions in 25 meetings over 19 days. Those
turning to Christ include a homosexual, several drunkards and a Jewish woman who
recognized that Jesus is the Messiah! v
A
high-ranking Moldovan government official has come to Christ through our
ministry in Moldova. His wife also has been saved, and both have just been
baptized. He is in charge of the countries Anti-Corruption program and by
working with US agencies has jailed 29 notorious offenders over the past year.
Now that this governmental authority is a brother in Christ, we have twice the
reason to pray for his safety and his spiritual growth. v
We are
rejoicing in an answer to prayer concerning the family we mentioned last month
causing problems for the new church in Bordusani, Romania.
Praise God for working in the hearts of this family and restoring their
church unity. v
Praise
God for adding 3 new church planters to our missionary family, all graduates of
schools where we train national pastors and church planters.
Two will be working in Romania, and the third graduate named Igor is
starting a new work on the military base north of the one in Desna where he was
saved. v
We are
thankful for those who came and taught our national missionaries and workers in
classes just concluded in Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and Romania.
Praise God for the 25 graduating this session. Prayer – Pray with us! v
Dima, the
grandson of Tatiana Yakshina, one of our children’s workers in Ukraine,
slipped into eternity as a result of heart problems. Please pray for the family in their grief and that God
would be glorified through the home going of this dedicated young man who often
helped in the ministry v
Please
pray for Eugene an earnest student of the Word who has come to Christ in Cegani,
Romania. He wants to follow the
Lord in believer’s baptism but his wife is threatening to leave him if he
does. Pray that this opposition
would end through the salvation of Eugene’s wife. v
Karina
the child adopted from Chechnya of BIEM missionaries Vitaly and Vika Sychov is
in the United States for a second round of treatments.
Pray that she makes the progress necessary to walk on her own. v
Our most
recently shipped container has arrived in the port city of Odessa Ukraine where
Customs, as usual are making unreasonable documentation requests.
Please pray that our crew would be able to wade through this maze. v Funds are still needed for this summers camping program and our homeless children's ministry that has more costs since expanding into space provided by the city at minimal costs. Pray that funds would come in for these needs. |
