BIEMs of Light: February 2006

Praises Rejoice with us!

v Church planter Vitaly Bilyak in Ternopil, Ukraine, reports, “Ten days ago, at one of the Bible studies four people repented: my cousin Galya and her daughter Vika, a young man named Volodya, and a woman, Svetlana.” Vitaly now has eight people preparing for baptism. Praise God for victories!

v     In Romania, Iulian Stoian shares this praise concerning first-time efforts to evangelize in two villages, Kogalniceanu and Platonesti: “In the first village we entered with the Gospel for the first time, 12 families were reached. In Platonesti the door was open wider, and 150 contacts were made.” Of course, these are only initial contacts, but we praise God that His Word is being sown in hearts.

v     God is continuing to use the Christian Rehabilitation Center to free drug addicts and drunkards from their addictions and from the bonds of sin. In January saved men from the Center helped the church in Podolsk to evangelize and distribute New Testaments. Praise God for changed lives!

v     In Eastern Europe, Christmas is celebrated on January 6. So the church in Desna organized a special January Christmas service, including testimonies and a visiting choir. Hundreds of soldiers attended, and each one received a New Testament. Praise God for opportunities to evangelize!

v     Praise the Lord, Pastor Peter Rumachik is recovering from surgery. Please pray for good healing and, if the Lord so wills, strength to make another trip to the U.S. to preach.

   Prayer Pray with us!

v     Please continue to pray for Marius Simionas in Moldova. His health is improving with treatments, but the situation is still serious. Despite his blood disease, he feels well and has none of the headaches, internal pains, or fatigue that he should. The doctors are baffled about that, but we recognize that the Lord is meeting his needs.

v     Please pray that details will be worked out in Romania concerning a foundation our workers are establishing. The goal is for this foundation to be the local “umbrella organization” under which Mountain Air Bible Camp and our independent church planters will labor.

v     Although summer may seem far off, our pastors in Eastern Europe are already making long-range plans for this year’s children’s camps. Please pray that sufficient funds for these will come in.

v     National pastor Oleg Vladyko in Otradnoye is being greatly used of the Lord and providing good leadership for his church. However, his financial support level is not as high as it should be. Please pray that some churches, or even individuals, would give toward this family’s BIEM account.

v     In St. Petersburg, Russia, Charles Hoblitz reports that Russian authorities—fearful of spies—are scrutinizing his church due to invitations that have been issued to foreigners to come.
