BIEMs of Light- February 2003Praises
– Rejoice with us! v
One of BIEM’s newest church plants in Bordusani, Romania
was able to find a great deal on a much-needed building.
Praise God for the folks at Peace River Baptist Church in Port Charlotte
who made this purchase possible. v
Churches being planted in Tighina and Tiraspol (in the
Transnistra area of Moldova) have recently reached a number of people for
Christ. Praise God for the work
being done in this heavily communist area.
BIEM national missionaries Mihai Coca and Marius Simionas report an
excellent response in Munceshti, Moldova where they recently distributed Bibles
and tracts. v
Praise God for the testimony of Luba Jumick whom God has
greatly used in our ministry in Ukraine. She
is a great soul-winner. Recently
someone connected to one of the schools where she ministers spread the rumor
that Luba was receiving $15,000 for everyone she managed to “convert”.
Luba told her that though she does not receive $15,000 for everyone who
converts, in reality she receives much more through the inheritance we have
through Christ! v
God continues to bless our ministry at public school #9 in
Fastov, Ukraine where they recently asked for the Bible to be taught in 3
different classes. Pray for the
salvation of Lidia Egorovna the teacher who made this possible as she is very
open to God’s word. Our children’s worker Lilia Andrushko has begun to hold
Bible studies for the parents of the children in the home of one of the
families, and some neighbors have begun to attend.
v
The Grace Baptist Church of Madison, Wisconsin has taken
on the project of establishing a church in Ukraine through BIEM.
They have adopted the church being planted in Chervona Sloboda which has
taken on the name of “Blahodat Baptist ” which means Grace Baptist in
Ukrainian!
Prayer
– Pray with us! v
Two elderly ladies Kayta (75) and Lydia (76) have come to
Christ through the ministry in Borivka, Ukraine. Between them they have several children and dozens of
grandchildren for whom they have a great spiritual burden.
Please pray that these souls would also be reached. v
Vitek Sychov and the group of believers meeting on the
military base city of Desna have gone through an extraordinary event in the
history of church planting in Ukraine. They have had their first Sunday service!
Therefore Sunday is no longer just another weekend in this strategically located
place. It is now a day of worship
toward our Heavenly Father. v
Please pray for the registration of the piece of land in
Desna where the new congregation hopes to eventually build. v Following are some musical needs to pray for: a piano for Chervona Sloboda and keyboards for Borivka, Komarivka and Desna in Ukraine and Transnistria, Moldova. ($300 will buy a decent piano or keyboard.) v Nina Hoblitz, faithfully serving with her husband Charles in St. Petersburg, Russia, has struggled with gallstone type symptoms. However, doctors so far have been unable the pinpoint cause of this discomfort. Please pray they will soon successfully treat this condition. |
