of Light: August 2007 Praises – Rejoice with us! v In each country where BIEM has sponsored summer camps for children and teens, souls have been coming to Christ for salvation. Official reports have not yet arrived from the camp leaders, but BIEM missionaries were on hand to preach and saw a good number of people coming to Jesus! v In April we wrote of special financing that BIEM received to enable Ukrainian churches to hold unique services & meals in honor of widows. Church after church has written to say what a blessing these occasions have been. Lonely widows have been amazed that strangers cared enough to hold a dinner for them. Many wept. And some hobbled forward to say a prayer of repentance! v This past month, Journey Forth Books in Greenville, SC, published Gunner’s Run, a Christian World War II novel written by BIEM staff member Rick Barry. This story includes the way of salvation and is suitable for believing and non-believing readers. Copies can be purchased through any bookstore, or from the publisher (800-845-5731), or from Rick when he visits your church! v In Romania, Fred Canaday is excited to have American missionary Norm Busenitz and his wife starting a school in Satu Mare. The goal of the school is to offer modular courses for training pastors, which would dovetail perfectly with BIEM’s goal of planting churches. Prayer – Pray with us! v Please continue to pray for the ***conference in the works for *** this ***. Enthusiasm is building, and we expect over 1,000 attendees. Pray that final logistical details will be completed, and that the conference will result in believers joining in evangelizing ***. (Deleted for security purposes) v In Moldova, we are in the final stages of establishing a charitable foundation. Once accomplished, it will help our missionaries to labor legally. Please pray for swift finalizing of this process, which has required many hours of work. v Although Ann, the coworker for whom we’ve requested prayer several times, has been declared cancer free, she must still complete a regimen of radiation treatment. Please pray for a total success with these treatments and for strength for Ann, because such radiation can be physically taxing. v One of BIEM’s American missionaries is currently traveling and establishing contacts in ***. Please pray for his safety and a good outcome from this long journey, which cannot be explained more thoroughly due to security concerns.
