Rejoice with us!
v Last month we requested
prayer for Ann, wife of our worker for Central Asia. Praise God, the
knee replacement surgery went well, and Ann is well on the road to
recovery. Thanks for prayers!
v
Renovation work on the building purchased across from the
military base in Desna, Ukraine, is progressing quickly. A new roof has
been built over half the building. This month a group from the U.S. will
help with interior work to convert this once vacant building into an
attractive church!
v
Although some children’s camps are still in progress at
this writing, we praise the Lord for reports of many, many children
getting saved! Here’s a quote from a girl named Olina (age 11) who
echoes the thanks of many other kids: “I liked the time of rest in the
camp very much. I accepted Jesus in my heart, and now I am God’s child.
Thank you to those who financed the camp and for the gifts.”
v
During his recent trip to various cities in Russia, Rick
Barry was able to meet up with a number of former drug and alcohol
addicts whom he first met at the Christian Rehabilitation Center. He was
glad to find these new believers taking active roles in local churches,
joining in evangelism, and some have enrolled in the Bible institute.
Others have become staff members at the Rehab Center and are now guiding
others out of drug addiction and to new life in Christ. Praise God for
redeeming lives!

Pray with us!
v
Sometimes praying for laborers for the harvest results in
relocations. BIEM missionaries Charles and Nina Hoblitz have felt God’s
urging to relocate from Russia to the much poorer country of Georgia,
another former Soviet republic, to make use of wide-open doors for
evangelism. They plan to move from Russia to Georgia after November 6.
They request prayer for this major step.
v
The church in Lutsk, Ukraine, sends a special request: A
six-year-old boy Petro Lytvynchuk in that church cannot walk, but he is
too heavy for his mother to carry. They appeal for a new or used
child-sized wheel chair, but all those we have on hand are for adults.
Please pray about this need. (If anyone has one to donate, we can
include it in our fall container.)
v
Sergiu Ratsa in Jora, Moldova, asks for prayer as he seeks
to use the Gospel to break through the shell of religious tradition that
blinds so many in his area. “We pray for the blessing of
God on these villages with people so tied to traditions. They like to
talk about faith but don’t want to change.”
v
The young church in Ternopil, Ukraine, may have only eight
baptized members, but they are enthusiastic about sharing their faith.
The church plans a fall evangelism emphasis in order to contact more
interested people in their city. Please pray for fruitful results from
this effort.
