Praises
– Rejoice with
us!
v
It’s a boy! On July 5 in Moldova, Ghenadie Ostaficiuc’s
wife Tania gave birth to a healthy baby, named Daniel. At one point
doctors had stated there was a problem with her unborn child. After many
prayers, the doctors reported that the baby was well again. Ghenadie
writes, “We thank you so much for your
prayers and for your love.”
v
The first week of camp at the newly purchased site in
Romania went great! Marcia Escobar reports, “We had some incredible
times of Bible study, Bible memory, group games, lots of great
music….” A big concern for the teens was the matter of eternal security.
Using God’s Word, camp staffers eased their fears about losing
salvation.
v
This year in Desna, Ukraine, the Sychovs tried a variety
of summer evangelistic outreaches: Dr. Sam Harbin and Pastor Troy Gahman
led Bible-based seminars on strengthening families. Elsewhere Christians
led English Clubs, a basketball clinic, and children’s clubs, all to
point souls to Christ. People listened attentively as the Gospel was
given, and each night people came to faith in Christ!
v
In Russia, Pavel Rumachik praises the Lord for saving
20-year-old Mikhail at the Rehabilitation Center. This young man was
introduced to drugs at age 13 and quickly became addicted. In fact, this
ministry is so effective at redeeming lives that an officer invited them
to come and speak to recruits. Ministry leaders and men saved from their
addictions spoke on the danger of narcotics and told how Christ had
saved them.

After restricting the congregation in Desna to meet in the
auditorium they had been renting, the military has relented and allows
the church to meet there on Sundays. But only for 1 hour, and at a
higher rent than before. Vitaly Sychov has located a suitable building
that will soon be for sale. Please pray that this church can either buy
this property, or find another place to worship regularly.
v
Children’s worker Lilia Andrushko teaches Bible classes to
children in several locations, (including 10 years now in the orphanage
at Velikopolovetske). Lilia especially requests prayer for the family of
a woman named Lena that she has been working with. Lena has 8 children
and has started to bring them to church. But the husband remains unsaved
and becomes violent when he drinks alcohol. Please pray for God to work
in this family.
v
Bruce and Natalie Tuttle are back in the U.S. and
continuing deputation with hopes of being on the field in Ukraine in
September. Please pray for support. Also, Rick Barry, who works in the
BIEM office, is scheduling more meetings to raise his own support.
v
In each of our children’s camps, the Word of God has been
sown in hearts, and in some it has already borne the fruit of salvation!
Pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in these young lives.
We’ll share more details about camps soon. |
