BIEMs of Light: April 2004

PraisesRejoice with us!

v     Praise God for a continuing harvest of souls.  In Tandarei, Romania evangelistic efforts have resulted in 6 people coming to Christ.  Several people have been saved last month in Borivka, Ukraine including three severely ill elderly women reached by the ladies of the church.  In Chervona Sloboda, Ukraine there are now six recent converts who have decided on making their faith public through baptism.

v     We are thanking God for a fruitful evangelistic campaign in Trylisy, Ukraine, one of our newer church planting projects.  The hall was packed with people and our church planting team reports that 10 out of the many saved in the meetings are regularly attending services.   Over 200 attended evangelistic meetings in Fetesti, Romania.

v     Tolik is one of the young Ukrainians who came to Christ through our ministry in the Trypillia orphanage.  Now of age, he must fend for himself.  This usually puts an orphan like Tolik on the streets.  Praise God that one of our children’s workers (Luba Jumick) was able to convince the Ukrainian legal system to grant Tolik ownership of his parent’s house.  A similar legal-bureaucratic wonder was accomplished in behalf of another homeless boy named Yaroslav, through the efforts of Sergei who directs our homeless ministry.

v     Praise God for the youth being reached in Snitinka, Ukraine.  Sasha a teenager saved in BIEM’s ministry has been an outstanding witness in her school.  Several classmates are now meeting regularly in her home for Bible Study.  Eighty teenagers packed out the hall that was rented for an evangelistic meeting last month even though there was no heat!  Praise God for several who are now regularly attending services including Dima, the disc jockey of the local club.

PrayerPray with us!

v     Brother Anatoly laboring in Borivka asks for prayer that 3 recent alcohol-related deaths in town would open eyes to the sin of drunkenness and open hearts to the Gospel.

v     Please pray that a place can be found to house our growing ministry for homeless children in Kyiv, Ukraine.

v     Ramona a young lady saved through the ministry in Stelnica, Romania has been diagnosed with two serious eye diseases.  The prognosis is that she will eventually be blind.  Please pray for her as she travels to Germany where it is hoped laser surgery can help.  She is maintaining a wonderful spirit and testimony throughout this trail.

v     We will soon be sending out an appeal for our summer camping programs.  Please pray that the needed funds would come in for this fruitful ministry.
