BIEMs of Light: April 2006

Praises Rejoice with us!

v Despite concerns over his blood condition, Marius Simionas in Moldova shares the following good news: “We had a great fellowship last Sunday in Chisinau. Almost 40 people. More than I can ever remember. We have some new converts: one family, a young man, and a young woman, too.”

v     We praise the Lord for enabling us to bring 2 Ukrainian and 2 Russian church planters to the U.S. to help raise funds for ministry in their home countries. The U.S. does not grant visas to all foreigners who wish to come, so this is a big praise. A bigger praise is that they allowed Pastor Vladyko to come despite his pre-ministry education: a degree in chemical engineering with a master’s in explosives!

v     We thank God for enabling BIEM to convert a portion of our upstairs offices into a guest room and shower room for visiting nationals and other missionaries. This quiet apartment retreat is already being a blessing to visitors. (Gifts to cover this expense would also be a blessing!)

v     An unsaved construction contractor name Andrei who has worked on several church buildings near Fastiv, Ukraine, has now accepted Christ as Savior!

v     In Ternopil, Ukraine, church planter Vitaly Bilyak has 6 people ready to follow the Lord in believers’ baptism, for which is praises God. Two young ladies who are university students also wish to be baptized, but their parents forbid it. So we praise the Lord for their faith in the Lord, while praying for their parents’ hearts to soften concerning baptism.

Prayer Pray with us!

v     We praise God for the wonderful response to the needs shared last month concerning the container shipment.  The needs we mentioned have all been supplied!  Plus, a delay from the shipper provided extra time to get some late arrivals into this container.

v     Please pray for our national coworkers visiting the U.S. right now (Oleg Vladyko, Vitaly Keller, Eugene Buyko, and Vitaly Yurchenko), that the Lord would bless their meetings in churches with love offerings to meet the needs in their ministries.

v     Currently churches in Ukraine pay taxes on their property. Some proposed legislation would remove that requirement. If this legislation passes, it will be a welcome relief to the churches.

v     We have some volunteers committed to going and helping with summer camps this year, but we have room for more. Please pray for more missions-trip volunteers. (Maybe you know someone who might be interested in coming to help? Contact us for more information.)
