BIEMs of Light: April 2005

Praises Rejoice with us!

v     On March 11 the container that we shipped back in December cleared Ukraine’s customs and was received by our workers. Rick Barry was on hand as a portion of the children’s clothing was delivered to the orphanage in Velikopolets after a service for the children.

v     Wonderful progress is being made on church-building projects in Dyedovsk, Istra, Fastiv. We praise God for each new location where His Word will be proclaimed!

v     A new church plant in Zgurivka is thriving. The group of 30+ people does not yet have their own building, so for now they squeeze into the living room of one member for worship and prayer meetings. Ranging from teens to pensioners, this young congregation is highly enthusiastic about being in the family of God and sharing His Good News!

v     Answered Prayer!  Iosif Pop of Fetesti, Romania, and Dr Alexander Shestov of St Petersburg, Russia, both were able to obtain their visas for them and their wives.  Plans are underway, Lord willing, for them to visit churches in the States within the next couple of months.

Prayer Pray with us!

v     On March 19 church planter Ghenadie Ostaficiuc in Duralesti, Moldova, reported complications with his wife’s pregnancy. Doctors say something is wrong with the baby, but don’t yet seem sure what is the problem. Please keep this young family in prayer.

v     Sergei Levitsky’s car was disabled when he used it to haul heavy building supplies for the Homeless Children’s Ministry Center.  Please pray that this hindrance may soon be repaired.

v     Karina Sychov, the adopted daughter of church planters Vitaly and Vika, is showing improvement and now walks short distances with a walker. She is scheduled for more physical therapy in April. Please pray for further improvement in her motor skills.

v     Virtually all of our co-laborers in Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova want to remind BIEM’s supporters to pray for the salvation of souls. As much as we appreciate and need monetary donations, your prayers are our real support. Please pray for souls to respond to God’s Word!

Text Box: Newsflash! A church that had been planning to send a group to participate in children’s day camps in Ukraine this July had to cancel their trip. This leaves openings for you if you would like to be a part of this ministry. Not just a vacation, these two weeks provide opportunities to share God’s love with youngsters. If you’re interested, please respond to the enclosed card right away, as visas and passport processing takes time.
